Antoun Civil Engineering makes front page news!

During the month of July, Antoun Civil Engineering were contracted by Hornsby Shire Council for the removal of six derelict boats from Sandbrook Inlet at Brooklyn on the Hawkesbury River.

The boats including the last river trade boat the MV Surprise II built in 1924 have been abandoned for the past decade.

Environmentally, the works were a huge success with each site restored to a natural mangrove landscape.

Full details of the project can be viewed on the Hornsby Advocate website at www.hornsbyadvocate.com.au.

Antoun Civil Engineering in conjunction with Volumetric Concrete Australia win the 2010 Category 1 Civil Contractors Federation Earth Award.

Utilising new demolition, dowel bar drilling and Rapid Set concrete technologies, Antoun Civil Engineering with Volumetric Concrete Australia have impressed the judges to win the NSW CCF Earth Awards for a category 1 project.

During a planned maintenance shutdown of runway 25 at Sydney International Airport, the team were able to replace failed concrete slabs with Rapid set concrete achieving 28 day compressive strength in four hours.

This enable the runway to be reopened much earlier than would have been possible using current concrete technology. Full details of the project can be found in the July issue of the Civil Contractor magazine or on the Civil Contractor magazine website.
